In May 2016 I had my second baby boy, Deacon, and Genia was my midwife again. When I arrived at the hospital she gave me a huge hug and said, “today is a great day to have a baby!”
I then asked her what she had originally had planned for the day and learned that she was in Labour the same day years before (it was her sons birthday…May 15). After Genia measured me she said “well, this baby is coming fast…I’ll be home in time for cake!”
Hahaha! I can still remember laughing and wanting nothing more than to have my new baby in my arms and know that Genia could be home with her family celebrating the birth of her son as well.
Personal moments like that are what make Generations Midwifery such a fantastic service and I’m forever grateful for their support. ~Samantha Joudoin
